SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented Safety Helmet

The SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented is a Class E, ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 Type I & II certified safety helmet built for electricians, utility workers, and anyone working in or around high-voltage environments. Rated to 20,000 volts, it combines a fully sealed non-vented shell with Koroyd impact absorption, Twiceme NFC emergency data, and a Fidlock magnetic chin strap. Full brim coverage on all sides. One size fits most, 53–63 cm. Available in 17 colors. Weight: [confirm 545g].

What safety standards does the SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented meet?

The SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented is certified to ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 (R2019) Type I & Type II, Class E. Class E certification means the helmet is electrically rated to 20,000 volts AC — the highest electrical rating available under ANSI standards. Type II certification covers impacts from the top, front, side, and rear. The helmet also meets EN 12492:2012 covering shock energy absorption (Clauses 4.2.1.2–4.2.1.4), penetration resistance (Clause 4.2.2), retention system strength (Clause 4.2.3), and retention system effectiveness and roll-off (Clause 4.2.4).

Note: Certified to ANSI/ISEA Type II standards (United States). Not certified to CSA Z94.1 Type II (Canada). Always verify helmet class matches your site's assessed electrical hazards before use.

Why non-vented for electrical work?

A non-vented shell has no openings in the outer surface — eliminating any pathway for electrical conductivity through the helmet. Vented helmets, regardless of their electrical class rating, cannot achieve Class E certification because the vents create a potential conductive path. If your job site involves electrical hazards up to 20,000 volts, a fully sealed non-vented shell is required. The SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented is built specifically for those environments.

How does the SHK-1 Full Brim protect against impact?

Koroyd's welded tubes crumple instantly on impact, absorbing maximum force and minimizing energy transferred to your head. Engineered to protect against both direct and angled impacts — may reduce the risk of suffering a life-changing injury. The full brim shell provides additional coverage over the standard brim, directing rain and debris away from the face and neck on all sides. ANSI-certified for industrial use.

What is Twiceme NFC and how does it work?

An NFC chip embedded in the helmet shell stores emergency contact and medical information. First responders can access it instantly with any NFC-enabled device — no app required, no power source needed. Setup takes under two minutes through the Twiceme app. Information is stored on the chip itself, not in a cloud database, meaning it's accessible even without cellular signal on remote job sites.

How does the chin strap system work?

The Fidlock magnetic buckle fastens and releases with one hand, even with gloves on. Four anchor points distribute load evenly across the jaw and crown for a stable fit during dynamic movement. Adjustable nylon straps accommodate a range of head shapes. Available as a replacement part in M/L and XXL.

What size SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented do I need?

The SHK-1 Full Brim Non-Vented is one size fits most, with an adjustable range of 53–63 cm. The rear dial fit system and extendable front brow pad let you fine-tune the fit across that full range.
